How to Use Matrixport’s “Official Verification Channel” Feature to Protect Your Assets?

On October 10th, Matrixport officially launched the “Official Verification Channel” feature to ensure users can directly access it whenever they encounter uncertainty. This feature reduces the possibility of external parties or links impersonating Matrixport’s official accounts, minimizing the risk of phishing scams and enhancing user security.

Currently, Matrixport supports multi-channel official account verification, including website links, email addresses, phone numbers, WeChat IDs, Twitter accounts, Telegram IDs, Instagram accounts, LinkedIn profiles, Facebook IDs, and YouTube accounts. More channels will be added in the future.

Examples of Verification Channel Formats

  • Website: The format should be https://www.xxxx.com, such as https://www.matrixport.com or www.matrixport.com. If the input source is unofficial or the format is incorrect, such as https://www.mattrixport.com, it will show “Not Verified”.
  • Email: Format should be xxxx@domain.com, such as marketing@matrixport.com. Supports multiple email verifications like Gmail, Netease, and Tencent email. Incorrect domain entry will lead to verification failure, such as marketing@gamil.com, which will show “Verification Failed.”
  • Telegram: Format should be Telegram personal ID or community invite link, i.e., @xxxx or t.me/xxxx, such as @Matrixport Official Chinese Community or t.me/Matrixport_CN. Both formats are valid for verification.
  • X (Twitter): The format should be X ID or profile address, i.e., @xxxx or https://x.com/xxxx or x.com/xxxx, such as @Matrixport_CN or https://x.com/Matrixport_CN or x.com/Matrixport_CN. All three formats are valid for verification.
  • WeChat: The format should be a WeChat ID, i.e., “Custom WeChat ID,” such as MatrixportSupport. Mobile number registration verification is not supported. If a phone number is used, it will show “Verification Failed.”
  • Phone Number: Supports multiple regions and countries. The format should be country code + space + phone number, such as 65 66778010. The number must include the country code!! There should be no extra spaces between the country code and phone number, as incorrect formats such as 66778010 or 65 6677 8010 will show “Verification Failed.”
  • Instagram: The format should be the Instagram account profile URL, i.e., https://www.instagram.com/xxxx, such as https://www.instagram.com/matrixport. Direct account ID entry is not supported; otherwise, it will show “Verification Failed.”
  • LinkedIn: The format should be the LinkedIn profile URL, i.e., https://www.linkedin.com/xxxx, such as https://www.linkedin.com/company/matrixport/. Direct account ID entry is not supported; otherwise, it will show “Verification Failed.”
  • Facebook: The format should be the Facebook profile URL, i.e., https://www.facebook.com/xxxx, such as https://www.facebook.com/matrixportofficial. Direct account ID entry is not supported; otherwise, it will show “Verification Failed.”
  • YouTube: The format should be the YouTube profile URL, i.e., https://www.youtube.com/xxxx, such as https://www.youtube.com/@matrixportofficial. Direct account ID entry is not supported; otherwise, it will show “Verification Failed.”

Here’s a step-by-step guide for “Official Channel Verification” on the Matrixport App:

Step 1: Go to the “Official Channel Verification” feature interface. There are several ways to access the “Official Channel Verification” page:

Method 1: Go to the Home page navigation bar, scroll down to “Surprise”, and click on “Official Verification” to directly access the verification interface.

Method 2: Click the “personal icon” at the top left of the Home page, then click “Account Security,” and then click “Official Verification Channel” to enter the verification interface.

Step 2: Start Verification (Taking the “Url” verification channel as an example)

  1. Click the arrow on the left, select the verification channel, and enter the content for verification, then Click “Search”. 
  1. If the source entered is not official, it will display “Not Verified”; if the source is official, it will display “Verified.” 

Note: Please ensure that the verification content matches the verification channel. If the channel does not correspond to the content being verified, the verification will fail. For example, attempting to verify an email address under the “Url” channel will result in a failed verification.

Note: To ensure the security of your assets, please avoid engaging with non-official Matrixport channels to prevent potential information leakage.

  1. Click to enter the Matrixport “Official Channel Verification” official page (taking the “Url” verification channel as an example).
  1. Click the arrow on the left, select the verification channel, and enter the content for verification.
  1. If the source entered is not official, it will display “Not Verified”; if the source is official, it will display “Verified.” 

Note: The verification content must match the verification channel. If they do not match, verification will fail. For example, verifying an email under the “Url” channel will show “Verification Failed.”

Incentive Program

To show appreciation for users’ long-term support and trust, Matrixport has launched a “Product Vulnerabilities and Phishing Report Incentive Program” to encourage users to actively use the “Official Channel Verification” feature and improve personal risk awareness. If users discover suspected phishing attempts targeting Matrixport and notify the Matrixport security team (msrc@matrixport.com), the team will verify the information and issue a reward. (If multiple users report the same information, the reward will be given to the first person who provided it.)
